Rural Development


Rural Development provides students an understanding of the special problems that exist when applying basic knowledge to the processes of agriculture and rural development in developing countries. The student chooses an area of concentration within the major and works with an advisor to plan an individualized program of study. Areas of concentration include economic and development, agricultural food systems, and environment and ecosystems. The core curriculum and areas of concentration are designed to acquaint students with relevant socioeconomic factors, the physical and biological aspects of tropical crops and animal production in farming systems, and issues of resource management and sustainability in developing countries

 
     
Who is it for?

This degree is for you if you:

• Wish to develop the socio-economy of the people dwelling in both rural and urban areas throughout Cambodia.
• This degree may suit you if you are interested in a career in  primary health care management, project management, psychological development.

• It will also be useful if you want to go on to pursue further training in key dimensions of rural development.

Feature of the degree:

This degree provides an opportunity for critical and theoretical study, particularly in rural development an intellectually demanding, broad preparation for employment with international or national public agencies or private non-governmental organizations responsible for programs in Cambodia.

• The degree will be relevant to your experiences and local environment, but will also give you a knowledge and understanding of a range of   issues of resource management and sustainability in developing countries

• The aim of the range of units available is to look analytically and critically at Rural Development and Community Tourism.
