According to Royal Cambodian Government's Strategy, one of the angles is agricultural development sector so that UME has established a Faculty of Agriculture and Rural Development to satisfy the students in field of Agronomy. It provides the students with agricultural revolution theories, farming management, irrigation systems, breeding and nursering, and sustainable utilization of natural resources.
Who is it for?
This degree is for you if you:
• Wish to understand advanced techniques and methods in farming management and cultivation.
• This degree may suit you if you are interested in a career in protection and preservation of soil, water, and ecosystems. Agronomy encourages to practice sustainable agriculture by developing and implementing plans to manage pests, crops, soil fertility and erosion, and animal waste in ways that reduce the use of harmful chemicals and do little damage to farms and the natural environment.
• It will also be useful if you want to go on to pursue further training in preserve the greenful natural resources, protect and reduce the climate change
Feature of the degree:
• This degree provides an opportunity for critical and theoretical study, particularly in agronomy. You will receive an intellectually demanding, broad preparation for creating higher yielding crops, crops with better resistance to pests and plant pathogens, and more effective fertilizers and pesticides
• The degree will be relevant to your experiences and local environment, but will also give you a knowledge and understanding of a range of agricultural issues and farming lands in Cambodia for industrial agriculture.
• The aim of the range of units available is to look analytically and critically at farming management issues and resolutions.
